The Honourable Minister of Education approved the appointment of Barr. B.F. Anyanwu as the
Registrar of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri with effect from 17th September, 2019.
Until his appointment, he was Deputy Registrar, Directorate of Academic Collaboration and Linkages (DACOLL).
A native of Amuzi in Obowo L.G.A. of Imo State.
Barr. Anyanwu had his early education at St. Peter’s Primary School, Amato Alike and at St. Mary’s Primary School, Oji River, Enugu State. He was at the Federal Arts and Sciences, Aba in Abia State where he obtained his SSCE/WASC in 1983.
Subsequently, in 1988, he obtained his B.A. (Hons) in History from Imo State University, Okigwe (now Abia State University, Uturu, Abia State).
For his untiring quest and thirst for all round education, Barr. Anyanwu enrolled for a Law program with the Imo State University, Owerri in 1995 and successfully graduated with Second Class Upper Division in Law (LL.B) in 2001. He later proceeded to the Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002.
In addition, he has to
his credit, a Diploma Certificate in Administrative and Personnel Management, 2015 (University of Canada) and a Proficiency Certificate in Computer in 2008.
Barr. B.F. Anyanwu (KSM) is a consummate administrator, proficient communicator, a Learned gentleman and a service oriented personality.
He joined the services of the College as an Administrative Officer (AOII) in 1989, and by
dint of hard work, rose through the ranks to become a Deputy Registrar in 2004.
Barr. Anyanwu has served in different administrative capacities within the Registry and the College at large, these include;
Principal Assistant Registrar, Personnel Unit, 1997 – 2003, Deputy Registrar, Public Relations/Information 2004 – January, 2006, Deputy Registrar, Exams and Records (Degree Unit) 2006 – 2008, Deputy Registrar, Exams Unit (NCE) 2008 – 2010, among others.
In addition, he has served in over 40 standing and ad hoc Committees of the College in
different capacities.
Barr. Anyanwu has attended several workshops; conferences and seminars within and outside Nigeria. He is a professional manager, and member, Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (NIM), Chartered Institute of
Personnel Management (IPM), Institute of Chartered Administrators (MICA), Fellow, Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (FIPMAN)
among others.
Barr. Sir B.F. Anyanwu’s areas of interest include, Conflict Resolution/Peace Mission, Humanitarian Services, Missionary work for God and Humanity,
Travelling, Jogging and Reading.
He is happily married and blessed with beautiful children.
